I'm excited about a return to the road, and the opportunity to celebrate the wandering minstrel life!

For the past year, I "left the road" and served as interim music director at Unity Church of the Valley in Vacaville, California. This has been a wondeful experience, although it limited my ability to get out and sing other places.

Still, I managed to sneak away and sing at Unity of Oroville, CA., and Unity of Palo Alto, CA, as well as doing a song or two at Holy Family Old Catholic Church in Fairfield, CA.

I also found time for three performances at the McBride Center and for the rush of leading the Unity Church of the Valley Choir as they entertained 15,000 people at Vacaville's Merriment on Main Celebration. THAT was a BLAST!

Now, I'm booking dates and travel for 2009 and 2010, so I hope to see you soon!

Howdy from the Land of Hope! Here are upcoming dates for the Land of Hope Tour! Now, we're booking into next year!

If "happiness is a warm puppy," our animals give us hope! We will be blessing them at Unity of Overland Park, Kansas, on October 6 at 10:30 a.m.

October 7, I'm honoroed to be the guest artist during the 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. services for Unity Church of Lawrence (Kansas) (http://www.unityoflawrence.org). Out-of-town guests may wish to add a trip to the Spencer Museum of Art. It's open from 12-5 on Sundays (www.spencerart.ku.edu). Art and music - what a combo! Oh, and wear your crimson and blue to this gig!

Coming up October 21 is a first for me, providing special music at Bethel Community of Christ church in Kansas City, Kansas. Details are found in the CALENDAR section.

On October 28, its back to the Unity Church of Independence, MO. Last time was wonderful, and I'm polishing some new songs up for the return engagement!

January 6, 2008, I will provide special music during Unity's traditional and beautiful White Stone Service at Unity Palo Alto Community Church in Palo Alto, California (although while I'm singing it will unofficially be "Palo Tenor"). All you West Coast Deer Ones, come join us!

I love this observation my friend Deborah McCune sent to me in a recent letter:

"I never know where or what I will venture into next. I just let God put me where I am supposed to be. It is always much better than I ever could imagine. God is so creative with me!"

Amen! Those of you who know Deborah will add that God is creative with, as and through her. She has also hosted 16 exchange students, making the world a smaller, sweeter place. Ghandi said, "Be the change you wish to see in the world," and she took him at his word!

It started as a simple suggestion...my musician daughter Annie thought the song "Unravel Me" should have "live drums" instead of a rhythm track. So, I revisited it, and played live drums on it. Then, I redid part of the vocals...then I started messing around with drums and horns and arrangements on other songs...then I added the song "Land of Hope" to the CD....

So, if you own the originally issued "Unravel Me" CD, you own a collector's item! The CD has been almost completely reworked, and the new version is available now! AND IT ROCKS, BABY!

If you own the older version and would like an updated disk for it, please e-mail me (daviddeerfeeder@hotmail.com) with your name and address and let me know roughly when and where you bought your copy. I'll send you the new disk. Put "REPLACEMENT DISK UNRAVEL ME" in the subject line, please.

There is a $2.50 handling and production charge, but I'll toss a bill in the envelope and trust something will make its way back to me! Since the new disk sells for $15 and the old one sold for $10, you'll still be ahead of the curve!
